  • Responsibilities

    This position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates who possess a strong attention to detail and are sensitive to deadlines. Dedication to client service is essential to coordinating work for our clients. Qualified candidates will work with our Community Health Center team.


    General role will include the following:

    • Lead, supervise and train team members providing accounting services to health care clients.
    • Actively pursue new clients for the health care team.
    • Analyze work plans and review preparation of “client ready” deliverables.
    • Work alongside other BKD team members to manage and exceed client expectations.
    • Manage and strengthen relationships with current and prospective clients of the firm.

    Assist with financial analysis and consulting projects for our community health center clients to include the following:

    • Preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
    • Prepare written analysis of client operations
    • Perform operation and financial assessments of client’s grants management compliance and finance departments processes, policies, procedures, and internal controls
    • Prepare various reports for clients to include the UDS – Uniform Data System, FFR – Federal Financial Report, grant applications, and others
    • Assist with various financial analysis and consulting projects for our health center clients
    • Overall project management, including planning, supervising, and executing consulting projects in the area of strategy, compliance, and/or profitability
    • Leading engagement relationships with appropriate levels of client interaction
    • Anticipating and providing advance warning of problems on assigned projects
    • Participating in targeted business development efforts
    • Contributing to technical writing and related thought leadership marketing efforts
    • Performing industry and technical research for the development of new client solutions
    • Utilizing technology and best practices to improve internal processes for projects
    • Traveling for projects, education, and business development efforts


    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or business
    • Health care accounting and/or consulting experience a plus
    • Working understanding of health care business and regulatory landscape for transactions
    • Managing multiple projects, including monitoring project time budgets and consistently meeting agreed upon deadlines
    • The ability to supervise and train other professionals
    • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
